Dr. Rene S.  Revuelta


René S. Revuelta obtained the B.A. degree in Biology and continued his education at the University of Puerto Rico, where he received the Ph.D. degree in Marine Science. He continued training as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Biology of The Johns Hopkins University, and as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Division of Marine and Atmospheric Chemistry of the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. His studies at these institutions include ocean thermal energy conversion engineering, developing analytical techniques to measure organic compounds in ocean water, and using immunological methods to study the physiology and ecology of marine microorganisms. His interest is studying and teaching about the connections between marine science, our planet, and the need for resources by the human ecosystem.
